The US Navy sent an honor guard to pick up the coffin and MIA remains and escorted him to Travis AFB and then to Hawaii for JPAC to pursue DNA testing as to who it may really be.

Breaking MIA news on a story seen in the film, "Last Flight Home"!!

One of the discoveries by BentProp in Palau was a TBM Avenger with a crew of 3 Navy airmen in 2003.

In 2005 the recovery operations for remains of the MIAs by JPAC, http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/ ,raised doubts in a family in Stockton as to remains that were returned 60 years ago from this crash site. They have recently proven to not be the family member in the family crypt.
